My name is Crystal Lancaster.  I was born on November 28, 1984 at 8:41 am at Long Beach Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, CA.  I have loved to write since I was 8 years old.  I write about everyday occurrences, about life, love, sorrow, and joy.  I write about what I know, who I know, and what I imagine people and places to be.  I dare to call myself a poet, one rough around the edges, and I even go so bold as to say, I've written a song or two.  I have placed the goal of writing a screenplay within my reach, and would love to see a book of mine brought to life on the silver screen.  But, for the most part, I write stories, namely novels, and social commentaries as well.
I lost my dad on the operating table when I was 15, and two and a half years later at age 17, within the confines of a psychiatric hospital, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Life can be unpredictable at times, doubly so for a person with a mental illness. I aim to raise awareness about mental disorders, and as for myself, have had my share of relapses over a period of 10 years, but I am holding on strong and intend to continue to beat this aggressive disease. This site contains the fear, aches, and pain manic depression can bring you.
But watch for the triumphs as well.
